Cruise Control failure

I have had my cruise control fail / switch itself off several times (together with a number of other faults!) LR took the car back to the factory for 3 weeks for a new rear diff (ongoing auto gearbox problem!!) and whilst it was there they replaced the control and switch gear.. (also have had a new suspension compressor too..).

I have the following problems that dont seem to be listed but are on the 'to be clarified'

loss of cruise control - usually when adjusting speed
mirrors loose position when reversing - had seat ecu changed still a problem
rear audio controls not worked properly since purchase
rear wiper sticks as too tight on windscreen. (arm changed still a problem)
suspension - everyone gets travel sick in vehicle - including me
suspension - for no reason car just lowers itself when you are stopped or at a junction (no messages etc.)
distortion from rear right speaker on bass tones
Im meant to have tyre pressure monitors acording to the manual but never had them come on?
door and boot trims coming loose/off
sat nav - system behaves like Im going in circles even when car is stationary

other problems I have posted on the applicable threads. (plus there are other things I have forgotten Rolling Eyes )

So reject the car then.

This seems like an awfully long list of things to have go wrong on one D3... reject it.

What's your vehicle's VIN? You can star out the last 4 numbers for security.

Reject at this stage, not a chance. PM your full VIN if you need any further assistance.

Similar problems.

I bought my 06 HSE in march last year and the vehicle has been back and forth to the dealer. I sold my freelander to upgrade to the D3 but seem to have had the loan freelander more than my car.
It's going back in next week for it's 30k service and again for the nigling faults to be looked at again:
leaking water down the inside of the windscreen
sat nav flicker and spurious flickering ( esp if A/C - heater running)
Cruise control just pleasing itself when it works
front & rear washer jets not working. Headlamp jets work and wipers work ok
Voice recognition has never worked
sometimes the phone controls work sometimes they don't

otherwise when I get the chance to drive the beast she's worth the money. Makes a breeze of towing the balloon trailer or caravan. Wife's happy and kids are too. So all's not bad! Just want the value for money and customer service boxes to be ticked too!

Come on LR sort it out. Your vehicles are world beaters but you let yourselves down with shoddy after sales service! Banging Head
 Keep on a troshin'

The cause is most likely to be a blocked sunroof drain tube, which then backs the water up to the sunroof and spills out onto the headlining.

Could also be a hole in the windscreen sealant / glue.

Had this on a replacement screen. Air bubble or something.

Various

I had the water leak inside, they cleaned the drain from the sunroof and it works so far.

The cruise control thing too, since day one, I'm told it's fixed replacing the switches on the steering wheel. They'll do it when I take it in for the next problem:

Remote lock doesn't work, either key. If you open manually the alarm sounds, and if you try to start with the wrong key, it won't (the wrong key is determined by trial and error Neutral ). Once it starts, seat memory is lost, partial odometer reset, mirror settings gone... But not always, it's all quite unpredictable. This has been going on, randomly, for almost a month. I leave the keylock cover off all the time to avoid further wear on the only remaining pin. The first time I took it to the shop they thought it was something loose, but now they think replacing some "control unit" will fix it. So I'm putting up with the fun til the unit arrives.

Here's an update: the criuse control was fixed by replacing the steering wheel controls.

Regarding the remote lock and memory, after waiting for the replacement unit and having it changed, that didn't fix it. In fact, they phoned me to go pick it up 'cause it was done! But when I got there I saw the technician staring at the diagnostics computer, puzzled by the readout and the car's behavior. So I had to leave it again.

Well it turned out to be a cable cut somewhere, inside the jacket, and it randomly made contact as the car moved. This was discovered by actually looking for the fault, following the connections, in a matter of hours. And all these weeks have been wasted just because they rely on computers more than common sense. Or maybe because they're plain lazy.

I fear the day when the warranty expires.

glitch in the dash computer?

2 weeks ago i had my 58 plate disco 3 into the dealer due to the airbag fault (still not resolved after 3/4 days in the dealership) but on the way home from the dealership i noticed the computer turn off for a few secs and yesterday evening on my way home the same thing happened again but this time it was off for a good 3 mins or more.

Has anyone experienced this problem ? is there i fix for it ?.

My disco is booked into the dealer again to try get the airbag problem resolved, so will get this looked into also.

thanks in advance.
