Squeaking tailgate
My previous car, a Freelander 2, had a squeaking tailgate (and an intermittently squeaking drivers door) for all of the 3 years I had it from new, despite the best efforts of the service place (Team Valley LR) and myself (applying oil etc). Pity, as apart from that I had a perfect 3 years with it.
My Disco 4, now 6 months old, had a similar tailgate squeak until 10 days ago when ... it just stopped. I've now got my fingers x that it doesn't start again.
I can't recall having this problem with other makes. Is it a Land Rover thing ? Anyone have any particular insight into it and how to cure it ?

yep - mine squeaks - more noticeable if the boot has been open for a bit. we left it open for about an hour in the summer when in cornwall, and it was not only squeaking, but also stiff to close.D3 Java Black 57 Plate SE, Night Breakers, Grabber ATs, Sidelight LEDs and best of all - Narpy torch. loads more to buy.

Not had the problem but a smear of Fairy liquid on parts in contact with each other works wonders (other washing up liquids are available).Jeff

Mine has it, I just used silicone spray on everything around the tailgate area, stopped for a while, I think it needs redone.
This is the only LR that I've had that's suffered a squeaky tailgate.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
