Can anyone help value my disco 4 ? |
|
I have my discovery 4 commercial on eBay but have no real idea what it's worth. 2010 60 plate 73,000 miles.

I sell my Discos after 4 years and for the last two have had 70% retained value (incredible isn't it). The only catch is that I'm in Australia and second hand vehicles do retain their value better here. My 2005 D3 HSE TdV6 cost $80k, sold for $56k with 68,000kms. My 2010 D4 SDV6 SE cost $90k, sold for $63k. I always extend the manufacturers warranty to give the new purchaser peace of mind, and it works. 2005 D3 TdV6 HSE Buckingham Blue
2010 D4 3.0 TdV6 SE Stornoway Grey
2014 D4.5 SDV6 HSE Nara Bronze

Sorry for the link did not realise it was against forum rules I did look to see if you had a for sale area.
I have mine advertised for less than half new price but little interest. If I advertise too cheap buyers will think there are problems. D4

I paid £29K for a fully spec'd 2010 HSE (ie it had all the possible options fitted at the time) with 60k miles. 12mths MOT, 12 months tax and 12 months warranty
that should give you an idea of what a Commercial could be worth (ie a lot less!) Duncan

I am selling it for a third less so yes that is a lot less. I thought high spec made no difference to price just made them easier to sell. I would imagine buyers will now wait for the proper 2.0 litre 250 hp engine rather than get stuck with the guzzling v6 Citroen engine I have. I have also heard the expression from a few people that u would have to be mad to run a d4 out of warranty. D4

just scaremongering, normally by those who cant afford to buy a D4
had the same view 8 years ago by those D2 owners - funnily enough, there are many D2 owners now buying D3s, I wonder why that is Duncan

what might be the difference in value between an early 8 speed 255 and a late version of the previous engine/gearbox? I guess they are much more sought after?

You would think so but in some quarters people prefer the proper gear stick and 6 speed because it does not hang in too high when pulling away. But that was a problem with early 8 speed so they may have sorted that by now. I dont think the commercial got the 245 hp for a couple more years so irrelevant unless you are looking to spend over 25k. Mine has 3.0 litre 200hp which is plenty for a lighter van. D4

Not sure when the changeover happened but mine is Nov 2011 and has the rotary gear knob and is def 250 hp, and I agree that is a lot of hp for a van!

Is yours a van as well ? When I bought mine a year ago going for an 11 plate would have stood me in an extra 7k. I guess I will get what someone is prepared to pay same as when I bought it.😀 D4
