2 stroke Oil vs Superclean Morendo DD
Morning people!
Just a quick question to gauge opinion.
I've been running Activo 2T through my 2011 D4 at a rate of 250ml per fill (average fill about 65l)
Yesterday I filled and didn't add any 2SO and noticed the engine louder after about 7 miles so my question is this.
Has anyone tried Morris Lubricants Superclean Morendo DD? My father uses it it his 110 with the Tdci engine as we add it to our bulk diesel tank anyway.
Just thought that it might do exactly the same job as it seems to address all the issues talked about that 2SO seems to fix i.e pump lubrication, increaced cetane levels etc.
Also note that the recommended dilution rate is 1:400 with a maximum dose rate of 1:200 for clean ups etc so must be pretty strong stuff.
Have attached the Tech data sheet, think I'm going to try some this afternoon as vehicle has only done 10 miles since fuelling.

I'm a Morris lubricants dealer and ONLY ever use Morris products, I've just taken delivery of my first D4 after owning many other trucks, I have always used this product, even if I've not needed to in previous cars, the main reason for me using it in the D4 is the fact it has a DPF, and we do a lot of short journeys, it is meant to help with cleaner burn by upping the Cetane which improves the over all combustion, burn and cleanliness, and as we all know DPF's are a pain in the a55.
So as for your question, I would highly recommend any Morris products, we have been using them in our family run business for 33 years, and have many many good/fantastic results with all there products.

Well I've now run it in two full tanks and I'm not sure what to report.
Certainly the engine is back to sounding as it did before I used 2SO I.e it has the familiar diesel "rattle" under acceleration.
Now it may have nothing to do with it but my fuel consumption has increased from 26.25mpg to 24.12mpg. Though this may be completely unrelated.
I assume Morendo is a similar product to Redex?

Just out of curiosity, what ration were you running the 2SO ?
You mention, "fuel economy increased from 26 to 24 ?, do you mean decreased, or fuel usage has increased ?

I was using 250ml of 2SO per full tank.
Been using 200ml of Morendo.
My post says fuel consumption, not fuel economy. Consumption has gone up, so economy down although I don't believe this has anything to do with using Morendo as it's been varying a bit recently.
I've trialled it for 5 full tanks and not sure if it's doing anything. I think I prefer the 2SO just because it runs quieter but I may dose the tank with Morendo occasionally just to run through the injectors

200mls Morendo to a full tank seems a lot, 250 mls two stroke oil is right

82l tank requires 205ml at 1:400 which is the recommended dosage. It does say the rate can be doubled for clean ups or initial dose but I just rounded it down from 205 to 200 for ease of dosing.
