MY14 Discovery 4 HSE Spec - Puddle Lights?
Hi all,
I have a MY14 D4 HSE, but have just noticed the lack of puddle lights in the wing mirrors. A quick check of the internet suggests this should be part of the bright pack, which is standard on the HSE. Am I missing something (other than puddle lights), or can someone confirm otherwise?
My dad has them on his MY13 act, but I believe the came as part of the pack that gave you surround cameras? Is the above an MY15 change?
Thanks.
Barry

I thought puddle lights were fitted to the underside of the door??
Maybe the lights fitted to the mirrors are to help with the surround camera view.FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

If you've opened the door, it might already be too late! I'm thinking less about puddles, than Fanastic Mr Fox, who keeps leaving presents on our drive.

Okay, so that is actually a bit clearer now. Thanks Fisherman and Wiggs.
I assumed the door puddle lights were in the mirrors as per the bright pack below, but this is clearly the door lights. Damn it!

Nothing's impossible .. But I should imagine costly .
Not looked at the latest ones .. But few year back the light is actually part of the surround camera
You'd be better off putting in some aftermarket LED's and wire then to the puddle lightsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Maybe standard as part of the HSE Lux spec. Do you have the surround cameras?

the my14 on puddle lights are sided and not that expensive, however there may not be any wiring to power the light as the looms have been streamlined in the mirrors, common earth on all functions, split use of wires depending on use....
there should be a oval roundish cover in the bottom that is where the puddle lamp fits.
if the bottom moulding does not have this you most likely not wired for the puddles,
I know as I had to build my mirrors by parts order bit by bit at over £1700 for the top of the range , folding, tinted, heated, blind spot, camera and puddle units FFRR SC 4.2

Robbo, that sounds expensive.
I think as Wiggs suggest, after market LED's could be the best option. A quick look around has revealed this.
A waterproof LED light strip, available in 300, 500, 1000mm sections that are interconnectable. I'm thinking maybe these could be fitted to the underside of my side steps.
An installation example here. Looks like it should throw a decent about of light on the floor.
I just wonder how easy the wiring will be? Getting power to it, making it come on when the car is opened, but to go off once the car is started. We don't want the Disco looking like something from a of a Vin Diesel movie 8)
