Got my quote for renewal from Admiral yesterday £203 fully comp and includes business use and covers my trailer when attached to the vehicle, not bad I can cope with that.

They were the cheapest when I renewed this year again. I can't help but think that insurance quotes are like pulling the arm on a one armed bandit gambling machine, they just seem so random.

They were cheap for me too. I saved £200 over the renewal quote from the NFU. It's a shame as the NFU are so good to deal with, but the difference was too great to ignore.

I was with admiral last year on a multi and it was cheap. However I had a renewal through for 700+ this year. I thought it was a case of catch the new deal and then see if you just stay with them. Therefore I got in touch with my broker who sorted me out for 400. I informed admiral that I won't be renewing and I was told to standby whilst they went to speak with an underwriter. Admiral came back with a quote of 300 to stay on a multi. Don't know why? I'm happy though Very Happy but my broker said that they must be making a lose.

Yep Admiral were the cheapest for me this year, I bumped it up a bit by adding extra cover and getting them to clarify a lot of things but still a good £300 cheaper than others.

Cheapest for me too - last year and this. Phoned to not renew as directline and aviva were good but they dropped like a stone and the cheapest by far and cheaper than a-plan could find.

Went with them as well after £225 quote, I'm resigned tot he yearly find a new insurance process as renewals are never any cheaper. Direct Line wanted £568 to renew when I informed them of blacked-out windows Shocked

Renewed with Admiral also, £200 cheaper than any other quote I could get, was expecting a rise from what others had said but it hadn't, though they seem to be the only insurance company that you pay a penalty for going on Speed Awareness.

I renewed with them a couple of years back because of the multi-car deal.

When I got my documents through there was no business cover that I had made a point of confirming was included. This was just the start of the fun.

When I took out the insurance I spoke to a nice person in Wales, when I phoned to get the problem sorted I got to speak to someone "offshore"

They told me they would amend the policies no problem but it would £14 per vehicle for the change plus £25 per vehicle extra. I pointed out that it was their mistake not mine, in the end I told them to cancel the policies and I had to pay for that too!

My thought process was what would happen if I ever had to make a claim, I went back to Directline, not the cheapest but very good service.

I have to say, I was with admiral when my trusty citroen zx met its demise courtesy of a foreign truck, the claim was less than straight forward and they were quite unhelpful. Luckily my boss could speak Italian so we did the legwork to track down the company.

The car was one that was only worth a couple of hundred pounds. would have been peeved if it was worth more. The difference in price between admiral and my previous insurer for the disco was too much to resist though.

On another note, I had my wifes car insured with Chaucer...I was dreading ever having to make a claim with them as they were so cheap but to be honest they couldn't have been better! One person dealt with my claim and never any delay in answering the phone or passing buck.

My Direct Line renewal quote came in yesterday and was up £67 (nothing's changed in the year).
Like-for-like, A-Plan (site sponsor) marginally beat it; but they gave lower excess and then included excess protection, so effectively no excess (you pay up first and then claim it back).
So I'll probably do the switch to A-Plan.

Thanks! I just did a check on Admiral and they are coming in at £105 cheaper than A Plans quote at £320, so I did another comparison check on confused and there were loads from and around £188 upwards, how the hell can there be such a difference. Ok I disclosed the Map on the D3 to A Plan and haven't yet put it in the basic check wit the others, but is a re map costing people £100 plus extra in insurance? it was free with my last company.

I think I have a lot more checking to do because I have quite a few cars and it all adds up Wink
