Adaptive xenons not working? |
|
Before I go back to the dealer - just thought I'd ask here first!
Never had adaptive xenons but these were spec'd on the car. Cornering lights work fine but there doesn't appear to be any movement from the xenons.
Should you be able to see the holders move when turning the steering wheel when parked and should they also move when first turned on?
Cheers

As DaveC, you can see the beams move in line with the steering wheel.
Do they move on start up - for me it's a case of sometimes yes, sometimes no. I've never bothered to try to understand it

You could pop the bonnet and have a look at the sticker on top of the light unit the numbers should end in 102&112(forget which side is which )
These are the numbers for adaptive headlights
You can check the no,s in the wiki section. MY24 Defender 90 X-Dynamic HSE

Thanks Guys,
On closer inspection tonight, on startup the lights had a very slight left/right movement
Still no apparent movement while parked but took it for a spin on the back roads with full beam and as DaveC says it's more noticeable but still very subtle. Just thought it would be a bit more obvious
Just for the record the part numbers I have are:-
EH22-13W030-GD (89908227)
EH22-13W029-GD (89908226)

Find a fog-bank in the dark for maximum effect.....it's like having 2 demented searchlights strapped to the front of your car "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

On a serious note,it's only in fog that you realise how much they actually move....a tiny movement at source,is translated into quite a large movement at distance, and they move pretty quickly....
