Checked and all clear. No advice given regarding removing if not being used. I had to ask what had been done.

Markets except Australia
Nose weight If the vehicle is loaded to the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), the
nose weight is limited to 150 kg (330 lb). If a greater nose
weight is necessary (up to 250 kg (550 lb) maximum), vehicle
load should be reduced to ensure the GVW and rear axle
weights are not exceeded.
Australia only
Nose weight Must be a minimum of 7% of gross caravan/trailer weight, up
to a maximum of 350 kg (772 lb).
Hitch height Must be set with the engine running, so that the caravan/trailer
is level when connected to the vehicle.
I think it also depends on which tow bar you have fitted, I have a fixed Land Rover tow bar and it has 150kgs cast into which I have always thought was the nose weight limit.

Local dealer couldn't do it until Friday 10:30 but managed to get it looked at on Wednesday AM at Guy Salmon in Stratford thankfully !!!

I bought my MY2006 SE second hand in January. Will I get a letter or does it not affect me cause I'm the 3rd owner. I pull a 1800Kg tin ten most weekends and am quite concerned.

I didn't get a letter, I read about it on here and contacted the dealership. Mine was given a clean bill of health and a new page for the owners manual, which basically says if you ain't using it, take it off and stow it away-that and have it inspected regularly.

Had my letter yesterday, just got to find time to get it booked in.
I will say that I only use the tow bar for normal use, just reduced from twin axle to single and boy do I get load of creaking and grinding from the joint, pads are good no rust.................
