Massive printer needed and a lot of filament, plus I'm not sure the surface finish would be good enough for "production".06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Minor matters.
First thing I've seen where I thought "ooh, a 3d printer would be good for that". Practicalities don't come into my "ooh" thoughts.

Here's one in Zambesi with the 'natural' silver insert ..... just so you can see the alternatives
D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.

This topic has generated a lot of interest by PM which is great
But to save typing the same thing over in response, the beanie grille is made using a D4 insert and a used D3 donor grille
Inserts are as you can see new on the whole, occasionally I've been able to get a good D4 grille to split, but it seems a shame to do that unless it's scratched, the inserts I can now get are not painted so any colour combo is possible, a full colour matched grille, or a black insert etc is now easily done.
The donor D3 grilles are sourced from many locations, ebay, MMJ, members swapping theirs and other breakers so are not new, but I avoid a scratched or damaged grille, small stone chips may exist or may have been touched up previously, (pictures of grilles are always PM'd ) if the colour needed is not readily available then again a paint job is possible, but this takes more time.
The D4 insert is bonded to the rear of the D3 grille, exactly as the RRS ones are, these are not flush moulded one piece grilles as seen on eBay

Grille looks great. How much for 1 in Zermat silver? the black insert is really nice. New to the modifying scene and site in general. Thinking of colour coding bumpers and wheel arches. Any advice greatly received
