Can anyone advise about tyre / wheel rotation on the discos?
There is no info in the handbook, and the dealer suggested only side to side when done at the first service.
I am now at 25K and the second service completed, however, the fronts have less tread than the rears, and I am thinking going front to back, as with a normal vehicle.
Any help accepted.
Cheers
Tony

I have never had my tyres rotated. A bloke at work has a V6 SE and he got his tyres rotated on his first service. Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

some say yes, others say no but it seems the general feeling is front to back only due to the radial belts or something.

I'm no tyre expert but I've been interested in rotating my tyres for a little while now because the front is wearing faster than the rear which is no big surprise. In fact, I'm a little annoyed that the dealer didn't take the intiative on my last service.
I've read all the arguments against but the experts recommend it. Goodyear says "Regular rotation of tyres is a proven method for promoting even wear and therefore extending tread life" (http://www.goodyear.com.au/gyr_subpage.jsp?xcid=362).
Here's another. http://www.tyresite.com/tyrearticle.asp?page=19
The only tyres not to be rotated are directional ones which have an arrow on the side.

Let me correct my last statement... directional tyres should not be "cross" rotated.
The correct method for an all wheel drive appears to be swapping diagonally front to rear.
