Indicator tick volume adjustment?
Hi guys,
I'm a noob to this site and indeed the Disco, had a RR classic many moons ago but first LR for 13 years
I have a MY12 SDV6 HSE and wondered if there is any way to turn the standard indicator tick volume down a tad?
If you are on a call it's silent so it can be muted or at least very quiet.
On Friday my car gave me the warning of restricted performance so it's gone back to LR (may be the 2nd Turbo actuator or vacuum pipe apparently), they have given me a Freelander MY13 and the indicators are a much quieter and preferable level.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

I don't believe there is a way to configure this in the D4 software but putting a resistor before the speaker in the instrument pack would achieve this.
Seems like a lot of work - with the risk of damaging your instrument pack - for a relatively small issue?

I wouldn't bother retrofitting anything to reduce the volume with risk of breakage, was really just a question as I know many other cars you can adjust the volume to suit. BMW's can do that
Cheers

They are quite loud but I rather like the noise.
I had a test drive in the Disco Sport and in that car you can hardly hear them. Or maybe it was the noise of the old, bought in 2.2 engine which they will never replace if you believe the speech LR have given the salesmen to repeat.2014MY Discovery

When I collected my car this afternoon, I took time to have a sit in the DSport. Quite nice and the size for me is actually a little more appealing but no way would I own one with that noisy 4 pot diesel. LR man did also reckon in a V6.... Quite like the car though but step back into mine and it's pretty Spesh. , glad to have it back and I an live with the noisy indicators.
Another question is does the Disco 4 have any kind of flashing alarm light?.... Again not a problem just interested whether it's something that you can choose to turn on or off. Can't find anything in the handbook.

So I guess by now you can tell that I've owned a fair few (and still own) some Bavarian metal.
Not trying to compare apples but when the Disco is sat in a fairly dark garden, if I were a car teef and saw no deterrent visibly then I'd be inclined to investigate.
And I'd rather they didn't break something first to work out that actually it is locked and does have an alarm
Maybe Halfrauds or Maplin have some crummy led I can attach. That'll look nice!

I know mine's a MY13, but I've got a flashing red light in the middle of my Rev counter when the vehicle is locked and alarmed.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

DudleyDisco.... Well observed and thanks for your input. I went and looked a little closer and do indeed also have a small red flashing light in my Rev counter
