Ignoring production profit there is 20% mark-up built into the OTR price; 10% of which is LR, 10% at the dealer. Not seen any discounting at the LR end (outside of special schemes) so down to the dealer for the discount. Dealer also gets value out of turnover and potential profit on trade-in and finance.
Outside of occupational or special schemes I think the largest discount I have seen on a D4 is 8% but given the restricted supply getting any discount can be a challenge. The largest discount on a special scheme is the full 20%.

Very interesting to know that the full profit is 20% per vehicle split 50~50.
What would be an example of a special discount scheme Robbie ? Do you mean like the NFU discounts etc ?

Yep, the above are good examples along with diplomatic and no doubt a few others. We use the Tata Privilege Scheme; very good discounts but the models available on the scheme frequently change and the whole scheme was suspended for a fair while.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Just spotted that Land Rover now offering £3k deposit contribution on HSE (but the APR of the PCP is up to 7.9% - a 1% increase if I remember correctly) and £2k on SE Tech. So there must be scope for discount at dealers at the moment above and beyond that, I would have thought

Without trying too hard, I got a 5% discount from the dealer. I didn't push any harder as I thought that the p/ex price was pretty good and the price to change was well within the figure that I had set myself.
To qualify that a little, my order went in as a result of being called by the dealer to tell me that they had a several six week order/build slots due to cancellations from the Russian market. They therefore may have had a bit more slack in the system

They also have a rate of 5.9%, but you don't get the £1500 finance contribution, however depending on car, desposit etc it might work out cheaper to get the lower rate. The other £1500 you can still get from the dealer as that is their cut.

I placed an order on a MY15 HSE just before xmas for delivery in March and they knocked me about 6% off and they also gave me a decent trade in price.
They've also offered which I may or may not take up as it seems too good to be true, an HP scheme with an interest rate of only 0.6%, so lending 20k over 2years, I'll only be paying back an extra £121, seems a no brainer to me.

My thoughts exactly Barry, haven't signed the paperwork yet but think I'll be taking them up on it. The finance guy at the dealership said it wasn't publicised but if asked they'd offer it.

Scottbrad if it's from Steve from Stratstones at Newcastle it's not too good to be true it's correct
I got mine in September and was just going to pay outright for it but they offered me that deal so I just bunged the money in a Santander 123 account with 3% interest and let it drip feed the finance Cheers Ian

I did think later on that some of it may come from dealer and some from LR. With NFU disoucnt too I am getting more interested in taking the plunge though no doubt my wife will disagree! And am going to look at the new xc90 at a preview event in three weeks
