Guys
I just renewed the wife's D3 insurance with Churchill at £278. Best bit though is I found a website that gives you cashback for buying things online and includes not only most of the big insurance companies but loads of other stuff to. I saved a further £100 in cashback making it £178 with protected no claims at 37 years old with me as a named driver. I got my house insurance through More than at £275 but got £80 cashback with them aswell.
Fantastic.... 2006 TDV6 S Auto, Buckingham Blue, for the wife and kids.

I've just renewed with More Than, £400 which includes off road cover, provided not trials, racing etc etc LR wanted £750! think they penalised me for my SP30 (but who doesn't have a speeding fine! cameras)and the fact I'm only 21 years old..ouch daughter just flicked my ear for fibbing...she says to double that Wish i'd known about the cash back bit.

Duncster, I think I'm quite pleased to be described as a prolific poster..
Yup, 35, full no claims, one SP30, parked on the street (as I don't know if it will be on the drive or the street from one day to the next), SWMBO insured as well, full social domestic & pleasure as well as for business.
Exact figure was £226.80 with NFU Direct including off road as long as it's not time trials or racing. And yes, it's in writing
Didn't know about the cashback thing though, but I was more concerned about having good offroad cover rather than the cheapest price. Just turned out that NFU Direct gave me both! I've now moved SWMBO's car and our house insurance to them, so should be even cheaper next year!
And Paul, what is the website you used for the cashback?
My personal view is that if you think you'll take the car off-road, then get it covered (in writing). NFU by their very nature (national FARMERS Union) are used to off road cover, but they do seem to penalise new customers who have had a claim (and who can blame them!) Bodsys Brake Bible

Funnily enough I phoned NFU today for a quote on Mrs VA's D3 - because of my accidents they having to check with their underwriters and should hear from them tomorrow. Loving the power of the TDV8!
