Floor mats

I am sure this has come up on the list before but does anyone have alternatives (to Dealer) for rubber floor mats / loadspace protector? I am using the ones from my now traded L2 which don't quiet fit. A template to use at Clark Rubber would be helpful.

Thanks
Do we have an Oz equivalent supplier to the UK?

You could try one of the coal fired power stations around The Hunter. They throw out KMs of conveyor belting each year. You will need a decent hacksaw to cut it though as it is thick and has wire reinforcement.
I nicked, sorry, acquired some from Yallourn Open Cut coal mine and it is really good for toughness and if it gets wrecked I'll nick, sorry, acquire some more.
I think they are glad to get rid of it to me.
Cheers,
David.

Rubber mats

David,

I asked for trade price from LR dealer and got them for around $280 (front and rear) (better than the $500+ list price Shocked ) , then I sold my D2 mats for $180 on Ebay... Wink

Just the other week spare parts guy was only too happy to reduce price of Konig chains for me from $380 to $305 and I didn't even ask for a discount Exclamation.

It can't hurt to ask..
Hope this helps

IMHO the clark rubber ones are the way to go. Very Happy
They can cover a bigger area and are much cheaper. Cut a teplate with some packing paper or thin cardboard, making sure it is little too big then cut it down when you are installing it; I cut mine what I thought was to size and found it was short in couple of places. Embarassed too late once it is cut. Just use a sharp knife. You can do a cut out under the seats and along the sides as well.
Place it smooth face up as it is easier to brush the dirt out when dry. Very Happy

Hi All

Picked up some heavy rubber mats from Repco and cut them to size, cost about $12 each. I work in a Brown Coal Power Station and the problem with the Conveyor belt it gets impregnated with coal dust.

Thanks

The Weathertech (navydevildoc)
mats look great but the nearest distributor is in New Zealand. I will use the template Clark Rubber route. Cheers

I bought my loadspace matt from the local car accessory retailer, SuperCheap, (I think), the brand was Bushranger. The matt was a near perfect fit with minor trimming required near the hatch area. It is ribbed and there are numerous embossed lines along the edges to assist with cutting the edge to fit the shape of the load area. It cost me approx $45.

Dave, try the auto shops for floor mats - I picked up a full length rear floor mat (that you cut to fit) and its as good as the LR one. It was one of the chain auto stores (not supercheap, but one like that). I did have to shop around - also found some matching front floor mats. Unfortunately - bought the rear load space mat from LR (but it is good quality).

Australia

I did quiet a bit of work on cores the old SEC did on coal from Angahook parish.
The belting I get has been lying out in the weather at Yallourn Nth for a while so when I get to it it's pretty clean in parts.
I would not use it for footwell mats though. Only the load space.
Cheers.
