[I would agree with Robbie in that a 25 Amp power supply / charger should be fine as the most ideal solution, but that long updates are so rare that for private users, jump leads to another vehicle or possibly another good fully charged secondary Battery will suffice.

Not really a problem then! I have at least 2 other quality batteries I can connect in parallel when the need arises.

Connected to another vehicle that is left running? or just to its battery while switched off?

Not planning on running out and doing this - it would just be good to know incase there is a point I need to.

Keep the other car running. Do nothing that would cause disruption to the voltage while flashing. Thumbs Up

The CTEK MXS25 is a nice tool to have for some extra peace of mind. Wink

to be honest I wont justify the outlay of a PSU and I wont use this tool to its potential, most updates seem to be already on my 09 as its already got sat on the move etc.

It mainly for tracking down the gremlins like my HDC fault especially after I had to get my car flat bedded to the dealer just for a bad connection on an injector lead last week. Wink

To hopefully put this thread back on track.
Re Flashing CAN BUS ECU's can take anywhere between 15 seconds to an hour depending on the ECU and the amount of data to be transferred. Most fall into the "a few minutes" catagory

Those advising that you really should purchase and connect a decent (25Amp plus) charger / Power supply for any and all flashing tasks are not wrong, as this pretty much guarantees first time sucess and no problems.

But clearly this is not really required for a 15 second reflash of something like a CCF but would be an absolute must for something like a 1 hour Touch screen Re Flash.

It is also not a good idea to look at the Battery voltage at the start of a Reflash as condition affects how quickly they deplete.

In recognising this, we have made the Nanocom's software as intelligent as possible in making it look and recognise the amount of data to be transferred and providing warning messages accordingly.

The Nanocom is a VERY powerful and VERY capable bit of equipment, best used with, instead of a replacement, for common sense Thumbs Up

Once EVO arrives I'll do a full test and health check, autobox flush, then possibly look at Remapp.
