Disco 5 or 4 - Decision made....!

Well - despite my misgivings been and gone and done it!! Took out a Discovery Sport - fine - nice solid car - engine a bit gruff at take off - couldn't decide. Took out the Disco 4 again and took it for a longer ride down the A30 - still loved it (despite those old fashioned washers on the damn bonnet Confused ) so much quieter and nippy etc, etc.

So, Santorini Black HSE with the following non-standard options:-
diamond turned alloys; adaptive headlights; extended roof rails; black lacquer wood trim (ebony leather seats); privacy glass, side steps, mud flaps, luggage mat. Delivery Sept hopefully.

Also included a centre cooler storage box - thinking it would be like my Land Cruiser and in the front centre console - but looks as though its some detachable thing for the rear seat - despite being a factory fit option - so will have to check and cancel that if I can.

What have I done? - the model is about to be replaced - I must be mad......? ........ Shocked

A good choice there Very Happy

Don't worry about it being replaced soon, just think of all the teething problems that other people will have to work through Rolling Eyes

I've ordered the fridge and it is fixed beneath the centre armrest as you'd expect. If it's a £235 option, then you're likely to have ordered the right thing there.

The price shown on my invoice for the 'Centre Cooler storage box' is £195.83 - not sure whether that includes VAT.... thing is I can't find any mention of such a thing in the brochures I picked up today except for a 'centre armrest cooler/warmer box' that clearly fits on the back seats - may have to go back to 'Build your car' on the website....

I am sure you will love it and the proper Discovery is just that, unlike the Sport version!

Good to see some more members in Cornwall as well.

No sure if they have changed the latest fridges but the ones fitted in D3's and early D4's between driver and passenger seats didnt warm so you may want to clarify with yr dealer. Thumbs Up

Provided its fitted at the front between driver and passenger its fine .... don't want it to 'warm'. Thanks... Very Happy

Meant to add I really appreciate all the responses so far, an active forum (unlike the Land Cruisers UK 150 forum - which couldn't be more different from the Australian forum - pradopoint).... gave me confidence to go ahead with the purchase.

Really pleased to hear that! I like the way that we seem to have such a strong Cornish contingent here too Very Happy

Just a suggestion; when Dannyson and I have got ours on the road, would anyone be up for a weekend breakfast meeting at, say, Goonharven Garden Centre near Perranporth? Like I say, just a suggestion....

Richard,

That's great Very Happy

Mine should be here either at the start of August or 1/9/15 at the latest, so it's looks like the timing may be down to you... Thumbs Up

If you could let us know if you can get a good estimate from Carrs, perhaps we could set up a Saturday, or Sunday, morning in September and put the word out? It seems a way off, but I'm sure it'll come around soon enough Rolling Eyes

I would be happy to tag along as well, especially when breakfast is involved.

We are away for the week of the 21st, but otherwise about.
