22" and Rubber Coated...

Just met a neighbour of my folks and he's selling some 22" RRS wheels, (Hurricanes ?) including tyres. Manchester area but I guess buyer to collect.

If any interest then you can PM me and I will put you in contact with him.

couple of points. LR has never fitted 22" alloys, so these will be aftermarket wheels, and the Hurricane style was an 18" fitted to Disco 2 and P38RR.

And, a good chance the tyres wont be weight rated high enough for a D3 (or maybe there's a closet RRS owner snuck in here Shocked )

Thanks Al,

It seems my knowledge of LR wheel styles is pretty low. I'm sure you're correct abouth the 22" being after market but he showed me a picture on his mobile phone and it looked familiar from RRS or FFRR but perhaps my imagination.

What I do know is that they are Censored big and have black elastic bands for tyres, can't imagine that ride quality would be great with these monsters on anyway.

They were off his previous Disco II TD5.

there are two styles in 22" that are the same as 20" RRS alloys. If these were off a TD5, the hub hole is smaller on the TD5, so unless these were used with centering rings on the TD5, they may not fit D3.

Just collected some new alloys from a gentleman in Newcastle, he had some pictures of his boss's disco with 22" alloys from overfinch, apparently the tyres were special order from the states, but come with a 111 load rating. He could do a set for £3k through the books or £2.5K cash. I looked at overfinch's website but there was no comparitive prices. Out of my price range anyway.
