LR Warranty v Warranty Direct
Disco now 5 years old (bought second hand). Warranty expires late August and am not sure whether to take the LR offer (£1,100) or WD (£800).
I'm tempted by the LR warranty - my parking brake failed shortly after I got the car and the LR Assistance was superb. I'm also nervous of the increased risk of something major going wrong with an older car.
So any thoughts on which company is better?

Passed the 130k mark couple of weeks ago, WD cover dropped to engine, gearbox & drivetrain.
Really scary prospect at the end of Aug, no warranty cover.

Both are after market. You'll end up facing the same battle for work. I've found WD to be excellent if you really time them down in the negotiation, so I'd strive for a good deal with them and save a few quid.PAGODA

LR Warranty for me on my third year never had a quibble with a claim as the dealers do it all,
definitely had my money back and the LR Assistance and the courtesy car that comes with it, well there's no argument MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

I've looked at this in some detail and I'd say "neither".
Always register your interest at least two to three weeks early, as their offers get better if they think you're not going to go for it straight away.

Warranty wise gets a proper slating from people here, don't believe the marketing spin. Plus no wear & tear cover so big chunk missing cf what WD offer.

I've had bad experience with WD (particularly trying to wriggle out of a claim due the failure being put down to Wear & Tear on a policy that specifically INCLUDED Wear & Tear - it took several weeks of letter writing to get them to accept the claim after their initial rejection ); I'd be very nervous about giving them money again. Had my money's worth from warranty direct (I don't know why they cover D3s )
LR would be easier to deal with as they take care of everything, no claiming back etc (which is always a worry but once WD authorised the claim they're very good)
Big plus for WD is the wear and tear cover that you don't get with LR

WD always good historically for me. Been riding on the seats of my pants for last couple of years.. James favourite hobby is writing in the third person.
