Would you wait?
Had a call today to say my D4 would be ready for the middle of August (was originally told October). The salesman asked if I wanted to wait a couple of weeks to get the 65 plate.
What would you do? wait or get it as soon as you can?

If it was me wait, as long as trade-in isn't taking a hit as a result.

I would wait. It will affect resale value.

I wouldn't and don't intend to if mine turns up in time ..... If you PX the vehicle, it makes little to no difference to the dealer - its all about Model Year... (so they tell me)..... if privately sold I would be interested to see any evidence of the difference in price between an August reg. and a Sept one for an identical car.....
Lifes too short ..... go get it!! ..... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
2009MY Toyota Land Cruiser (Lc4) - Black

Definitely wait - retail value aside, there's nothing like tooling around on a new plate as soon as they're out. Also Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond
Sadly Gone : MY08 D3 TDV6 HSE : Stornoway + Alpaca + Privacy + BAS Remap

I've just brought mine forward from 1/9/15 to 6/8/15.
I thought hard about this but in the final analysis, I want to enjoy my car in the best month of the summer, I don't want to collect my new car when the dealer's too busy to do the PDI and hand over properly and I don't give a damn about displaying the latest plate - I'll put my private one on it anyway...
I did think about resale too but, when it's 8 years and 240,000 miles old, who's going to care anyway?!
if you want it, go for it! And come back and post the pictures

Pre Delivery Inspection.
Just imagine the time pressure that the workshop will be under to get cars ready for delivery on 1/9...

Whichever date you go for, I hope you enjoy your new car! There's nothing quite like the feeling of collecting a new car for the first time!
