Engine System Fault and P0183 Fuel Temperature Sensor Code

I'm having real bother with this one.

I can drive the car normally for around 15 miles then I get a bong and loss of power with the Engine System Fault dialog appearing on the dash. It always seems to happen around the same distance from a cold start (sometimes to within a few hundred yards).

Turning the ignition off and restarting makes no difference. Only clearing the codes with diagnostics makes the car run well again.

After reading various threads I have:

checked the turbo actuator (free and no turbo related codes showing)
the EGR's are blanked (so those codes are not relevant)
changed the fuel filter (new Delphi one)
changed the Fuel Temperature Sensor

The only recurring code I get is the P0183 (Fuel Temperature Sensor A Circuit High Input).

The loss of power and Engine System Fault occur whether the sensor is connected or not.

Land Rover have had a quick look and seem a bit stumped without further investigation. Are there any other areas I should look at to eliminate possible problems?

Making sure it was the right part. Have seen a few pressure sensors replaced instead of the temp sensor Laughing

Next step is wiring integrity between sensor and PCM Thumbs Up

Problem solved. The connector which fixes on to the fuel temperature sensor was only making intermittent contact with the pins. It all looked fine, but after testing it appeared that the gap in the female contacts on the plug has widened too much. Plug disassembled, gap closed up, job done.

I front of oil filter dombe.

In 2 flexible pipes

Nice. So following this thread led me to check the fuel temp sensor - I cleaned the contacts etc. as it was looking wet and gunky in there and it seems to have cleared the persistent "engine system fault" and limp mode. I was getting the message immediately on ignition and hard resetting via battery disconnection etc. wasn't clearing it. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

I also

Is it worth replacing the red connector? I have this but the sensor seems to be letting fuel through andwetting the pins. Changing leak off pipe as well for a leak on that
