Re-conditioned spares
Heard Land Rover add over the radio this morning where they advertised that guaranteed re-conditioned parts are now available. Good thing that LRSA is actualy addressing some of their issues - in this case expensive parts.
I just wonder what the fineprint states ito of this "guarantee" ??
Maybe a reconditioned fuel filter will be quicker to come by - I am still waiting for mine.

I really hope your wish comes true. This is really worrying. I think I will this weekend crawl under the car and see which filter it uses, and then try and obtain one. If its takes this long in SA, imagine what happens in Namibia or Botswana or higher up north – intends to do another trip towards the end of the year and rather go prepared.

As LRSA and the dealers have lots of vehicles in stock (unsold), ask them to grab a filter from one of those sitting in stock ...? Unless those are not happy as well.
They helped me with a handbrake failure in this manner.
They can then hold back on selling new vehicle until they have a spare ... nice incentive for them and some goodwill towards you. Deon.
Good Luck.

Just had a look at the LR site. They have a section covering the recon-parts. Problem is, you have to exchange for a “core†part and not applicable to Disco3 as far as I can see from their list. Looks like its back to square 1

Tried the "borrow" from a new vehicle thing - but it seemed that it is the greatest sin one can imagine and things about authorisation from factory, etc, etc were mumbled.
According to my calculations the 10 working days delivery period expired today so will be on their case first thing tomorrow.

fuel filter part numbers:
Pre 07MY WJN500025
07MY on WJI500020
The accessory drive belt can be fitted without any special tools, LR recommend that the cooling fan is removed (which DOES require a special tool) but this is only for ease of access, the belt can be fitted with the fan in place but it takes a little bit longer...
Of course a picture of the belt routing is always useful - here's one I stole earlier
