Thanks chaps. Good news! - my wife ignored me when I said 'book normal car height' and booked us on as a high car so crisis averted Smile

Will keep an eye on the news and if it all looks bad at Calais, I'll book a ferry to come back via Dunkirk.

There's no price difference between the heights either, which is stupid, but makes sense in a way.

I actually prefer to go on the above height route as you get on / off quicker as the lanes are a lot quieter.

The Ariel thingy on my D4 slightly scraped the suspended on chains steel\concrete height barrier on the Folkestone side. no real damage but now I go on the cabin with the buses where there is lots of width.

Its a shame because I book FP and cant get the complementary grub, but I cant stand queuing either on business or holidays. On the French side you glide effortless past all the folks queing where you can see many a wife telling their husbands: 'told you we should have booked the FP tickets'

They seem to be charging if you are outside a 2 hour window. Came back fro. Spa the other week and it cost another £9 to get an earlier train.

Last year they wanted about £100 to move from 2pm to 3am. We declined and got the 9:30 ish one that was free. Thumbs Up just slept in the car. Which is all I was fit for anyway having come from barca.

I usually squeeze the D3 into the normal height, far better ratio of loos:passengers on the normal height bit. Handy when travelling with small children Rolling Eyes
