ordered a new D4 to replace my 2005 D3 (that I have been driving for the last 8+ years)
Other than the increase in power/ torque and the 8 speed box are there any other advances or refinements I can look forward to?!
Cheers

A car that is beyond recognition to what you are currently driving....you won't believe it was the same car... Enjoy!

Thanks guys was just trying to understand what makes it so much better?
Was wondering to what extent it has been tweaked and tinkered with i.e electronics, suspension programming/geometry, bushings, braking system etc.. all the nerdy details!

Well the basic car, shell and suspension is largely unchanged but you really won't recognise it when you drive the new one. However the revisions and updates to the engine and gearbox is beyond belief...
Some would argue that some of the practicality has been lost... There is less storage space and user friendly items but it has been transformed into a superb all rounder with genuine load lugging abilities!
It is so smooth and comfortable and totally less truck like and more limousine like!

My new D4 arrives in a month having had 9 years in a D3. I took a D4 for a test drive and the response was more car like than the D3 and I thought that the ride was slightly firmer. Might be the thinner tyres or new versus 9 year old suspension. My D3 has been limousine like too, very quiet and smooth ride so I am expecting something much better with the D4 - really looking forward to it. You said that it had less storage space. I see that the front cup holder are is reduced but where else has storage gone?

Lots of cubby holes around the centre console....now not so practical but more in keeping with a limousine rather than a truck.... Still brilliant and 20 x better than a RRS!
You will love it!

If they are not of the same quality as previous model it is misleading to sell them without showing current quality. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I didn't order surround cameras just the standard spec plus removable tow ball.
I was tempted by the RRS but in the end it just seemed like a car estate on stilts, not much carrying capacity and more expensive. I couldn't fault the D3 (fuel consumption excluded) and so the D4 should be even better.
