finally after 9 years of ownership chopped the D3 in for a D4 MY16 HSE , will be a sad day for the old girl but looking forward to making the acquaintance of the new young filly , hope she serves me as well as the d3 did.Tintenter

recently did the same after 7 years of my D3... was quite choked to see it go, more so than any previous car which is not surprising as its the longest i've ever kept a car.
Loving the D4 though - miss some features of the D3 but on the whole very happy. Just need to "wear it in" a bit though as it's still too preciousAlso Gone : MY14 D4 SDV6 HSE : Barolo Black + Almond

Just about to follow the same path with SWMBO's 2008 D3 - Picking up a 2014 D4 HSE Luxury later this week. 8) Really looking forward to the new arrival but like others will miss the D3 which we have owned for 6 years when I evtually get around to selling it.

You may both miss the D3 BUT once you get to grips with the D4 you just won't look back! Great cars, good move, congratulations! It's just a natural progression!

There must be something in the air as I am just about to take delivery on D4 MY16 HSE having had my D3 SE auto as well for 9 years since new in October 2006. It's really hard to let the old one go as it runs as good as when I bought it, hasn't let me down and looks immaculate. Of course everyone else just sees an old second hand car which brings me to a question. I have an agreed trade in price with the dealer but would like to try my hand at selling it privately. Where is the best place to advertise and how do I set a price? Any advice welcomed!

On here for starters and as much or as little as you see fit on top of the dealers offer, nothing to loose

I've looked at lots of websites to find a price but the range is enormous. I suppose Ebay motors and Autotrader give a guide as to what people ask (but don't necessarily get) and others like webuyanycar give a rock bottom idea. What premium would you ask over webuyanycar or similar for a private sale?
