Car damaged by dealership today....!!
took week or so brand new Disco 4 back to dealership today to have kinked inner door trim replaced and a 'rattle' in the drivers door pillar sorted. Neither done, allegedly new trim was just the same... so they left rattle until after they order yet another trim.....
On picking up notice 1 inch drivers door 'ding' with accompanying scratch ..... FFS!! Now I'm thinking they are gonna deny this (they never check before hand of course) ... but no ... not denied yet anyway, they took photos and they will allegedly pick up from home next Wednesday and sort it all out..
Back home with now dented car noticed roof covered in water spots (poor washing technique by LR) and on closer examination noticed what I can only describe as a 2 - 3 inch 'glue run' on the top of the rear stop light/washer housing May have been there before I collected from new....? - anyway they have been so advised...
I can't say I wasn't warned......!! Land Cruiser forum did say I would get to know the first names of the staff at Land Rover ..... how true its turning out to be..... only had it just over a week....FFS! nothing like this in 16 years plus of Land Cruiser ownership ......2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Whatever the car cost, it's only as good as those that screw the various bits together and the dealers that it passes through. There are excellent dealers and there are completely cr@p dealers, and everything in between.

That's shocking, I hope they sort it out to your satisfaction and quickly.
This certainly makes things even worse after the other problems you've already encountered them.
I was too late noticing it, but I think they dented the door sill on mine when they were working on the seat and it was returned filthy inside after that visit.Andy

Took the Jag for its yearly thing
& I got a sizeable drivers door dent...
Maybe not them but a careless person who parked next to me
£90 to fix - two hours of dent devils work
When I took kit in this time I insisted they examine car to agree dent, scratch & blemish free
What was amusing was they always do this to the loan cars they give you....even though these are clearly demo cars.
I would advise if you are unsure get "dealers" that is to inspect car beforehand.
If you take your car in to be fixed & it's not fixed.....you have to take back a second time UNNACEPTABLE
& tell the dealers that.BREXIT - done properly.

could be worse..when i bought maz door was out of line..initial response 'you will have to live with it...'on a 170k car.not contacted maz.directly with.a snotty mail(as you do) and dealer called to take it in next day. a few days later collect and the door is creased where they have bent it back in line...another week later finally fixed correctly.
It seems it always requires one going to extremes to get work done well at dealers.
now dealer is nice as pie It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

'Fill' and Paint Panel or Dent Devil?
Well ... still waiting for my dealer to sort out my brand new MY2016 .... went in three weeks or so ago for inside buckled door trim to be sorted - wasn't sorted (wrong part ordered apparently ) - and came back with a dent in drivers door FFS..... ... already detailed in original post (5th August).
Dent looked to be scratched as well .... so dealer took photos (didn't admit/deny) and sent me on my way...
So now a few weeks later - after I polished off the damaged area there looks to be no scratch but, if any paint is damaged, as far as I can see, its just a pin prick .... now I figure I can live with that and advised them I don't want a complete door spray (and possible filler) and surely a 'paintless' dent repair will do the job!
For me .... painting a panel .... no matter how good the repairers may be .... will never look the same again.... a very last resort in the event of a major collision ... as it were...
So now they have booked 'dent devils' to sort it (1st Sept. - taking so long to sort!!)..... and hopefully they will replace the buckled door trim, replace the rear roof light 'binnacle'? (currently mine has a large glue run), sort 'b' pillar drivers door rattle (although I read this could be more than just something loose - poor welds?? ), and sort the f g dent!!
I never had any of this nonsense with my three previous Land Cruisers.. .... 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Sorry to confess that I'm a bit confused here; what is a "rear roof light binnacle"?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4

Its the black housing on the top of the roof, at the rear end, that has the top rear stop light and the rear screen washer.... look out for problems with yours.... not something you see unless you climb on the roof.... obviously !! 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

Over here even for service, that is the first thing the garage guys do is ask for keys so they can check car over, check mileage and fuel reading, it becomes part of the paperwork (contract) for the work being carried out and there's always 3 copies that need signing (one copy for customer).
on return they always refer to the paper work to show what was signed for and then a cost breakdown of time / material. In fact they are so concern to cover every angle it takes extra time that I wish we didn't have to do but end of the day the extra20 mins is possibly a godsend IF something is wrong as it was checked by them and signed as part contract.
Oh and that every major dealer we have used (Skoda, Opel, Audi, VW) even we purchased 2nd hand Astra for daughter (black) for outlet took home spent whole day cleaning and high-speed polish machine to get swirl marks out, 2 days later in for full service at main dealer as didnt have fullservcie details, wife told them NOT to wash as we had treated the car; took them back that customer didnt want wash but they could see why.Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!
