And letting the rain in
Mine doesn't leak! Apart from when it rains. And I know where it leaks from.
As for being superior offroad, if a Disco was the same weight as a Defender and didn't have silly tyres on, then given all the fancy extras I don't see why the Disco shouldn't be as good. Not sure where they stand with axle articulation, but I guess it's not really the same when you've got fully independent and adjustable air suspension. It's actually quite surprising how much more capable a stock Defender with no TC or anything on mild 7.50s is than a stock D4 with new Scorpions, locking rear diff, TC etc on a wet, muddy and greasy field. Horses for courses, my mate was driving around with a heated steering wheel whilst I had my elbow out the window
Still, I repaired mine (a tree drove in to me whilst off road) with a big hammer over the weekend, that gave me a big grin!Visiting from Defender2.net

Plenty of very capable D3s around with MTs etc. - the brakes on a D4 have made it more limited though (min 19" vs 17" on the D3). Articulation is pretty good when it's needed. In practice, a well-driven Disco will probably do 90% of what a Defender can, off-road. All depends on where your happy medium lies. Yes, it can reset the autobox and calibrate the trasfer box. Updates include the 3 flash indicators, clock on the dash, SNOTM and bluetooth. Follow me home reversing lights and other CCF options can be enabled too. They've all been made as easy and safe as possible (they will never be without risk), so yes, they're easy to do. Some flashes carry more risk than others, but, as long as the advice in the manual is followed, there is nothing to worry about. Of course it is Thankyou I think I will purchase one. To get all the little mods done by someone else would cost well over £100 and to have the benefit of being able to reset things myself has to be worth it.

Just remember to have a good power supply connected esp if you are tempted to do the SNOTM upgrade. It takes a loooooooong time for that process, good voltage is an absolute must. Do not be tempted to to do it on battery alone.
