New 255/55 19's needed. Suggestions welcomed (road use only)
My Wrangler 19's have done 28,000 and are in need of a change. Have been happy with them but wonder whether I should go for the Pirelli P zero's.
I do not need to go off road (before you all start I know I know........) and am interested in comfort & noise supression.
Any suggestions, anyone had both Wrangler's and Pirelli's?
PS. I have odd tyre wear, the outside of the passenger side front tyre is worn and the inside of the drivers side front is worn. Do I need suspension or bushes checked out?
Cheers.

Nick
got 33,000 on my wrangler HP's, with still loads of tread left, although mine is approx 90% motorway (so starightline) mileage.
I've had both Wrangler and Pirelli in 18 and 19" on my TD5's, and although a lot of folks don't like wranglers, they've always given me great mileage (max was 59k on a set of 255/55x18s), and aren't bad at grip either off road. Pirellis were always a bit soft, so good road grip, slightly quieter on road than wranglers, but wear faster. Wranglers are usually slightly cheaper than pirelli's, so in my opionion, not bad value for money.
hope that helps

Also seems that 28,000 miles on the wranglers is not as good as it might be.What's the view on my uneven tyre wear (outside of one and inside of other front tyre)?
Cheers

Tyre wear is always going to depend on how and where you drive. My Scorpions have done 23K, the fronts have been replaced due to damage but the rears have lots left. My parents Wranglers on the same mileage sound like the wheel bearings have gone as did my first wranglers at that mileage. I'd be pleased with 28k!DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Just had to replace all 4 of my Scorpions at 22500. Had a big problem with the steering/suspension geometry that wore them out unevenly (and very quickly cos they were all OK at 18k). The geometry was fixed under warranty but as the tyres only had a couple of K left, I had to pay for them myself.
The Pirellis are really great IMO. They've lasted pretty well on such a heavy car and are impressively quiet. When I did my free half days offroading last year, we were in a Disco equipped with Sorpion Zeros and it had no problem getting up and down any of the muddy tracks so they can't be that bad off road either.

Odd that! The link works OK when it is saved as a favourite.
