This Can't be good??

Whilst changing the intercooler pipe I took the engine cover off to get better access and noticed a large build up of oil on top of the engine. Does Anybody know what the cause of this could be? It seems to becoming from somewhere around the MOST Cable. The second picture is build up of oil on the underside of the engine cover.

It is worth using a torch and checking that the 3 vertical pipes on the air/oil separator, the black plastic bit behind the oil filter housing that the two breather pipes attach to, are seated properly. I had mine out last week to replace the glow plugs and the rearmost pipe was not seated in its seal and the centre of the v was full of oil. The thin metal bracket that the locating shaft goes into was bent preventing the pipe going all the way into the seal, the bracket can be straightened by hand.
