Key removal from ignition |
|
On switching off ignition it is sometimes difficult to remove key from ignition. Waiting a couple of seconds helpsb but sometimes you have to switch to position ii and back before the key can be removed. Seems to happen more often after automatic lock was activated on my vehicle.
Anything I am doing wrong ?

It has happened to me once or twice. Usually when I am in a hurry and switch of the vehicle while still in D. When I then shift to P the same has happened.

There I was leaving Monte Casino the other day and the security guy ask me to remove the key. And I couldn't. Tried and tried, started to get nervous, the secuirty guy started to get nervous, got more nervous and then "Sir, is this the key to this car ? (and a slight lift of his batton)
Then it struck me - I was still in drive. @#@$^ myself nearly.
I have this same problem frequently and have not quite worked aroung a solution, even when in park.
Cheers

When all else fails , I find that turning the key to the on position and then back while pushing the gear lever all the way up works
