Unfinished cast iron callipers on most D4s. Really wish I had painted mine immediately after delivery.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Mine is the same.
I have an idea, perhaps rub some black grate polish into the visible cast metal? it would stop them looking rusty, turn them matt black, easy to apply and reapply in future, heat resistant.

Painted mine a couple of months after taking delivery and look fine so far but TBH it's quite difficult to see as the whole car needs a good clean.MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone

I use smooth Hammerite as it is long lasting and I tend to have a tin of silver and/or black kicking around in the garage for a multiple of other uses.

I reckon the acid based alloy wheel cleaners are largely responsible for rusty callipers.

Whilst acid cleaners are far from friendly I've never used one on my wheels. Poorly finished cast iron just rusts under normal conditions. It does no harm but it does look a little pants.
