20" Grabber AT
Hi,
Just been talking with local garage to sort out tyres for 20" alloys. Used to have AT2 and did everything I wanted to but with these Conti cross contact 255 50 20 on at moment I cannot get grabbers. Need to get 275 45 20 but not available here but can do 255 55 20 so will put speedo slightly out. What would be better, waiting to get the 275 size or get a set of 255 55 on my rims. Want to run all year but still have snow and mud capability in field. Any other option as I have been enquiring about 19" alloys but will need disco 4 ones as try rrs ones only rated to 900kg or I'm I just looking too in depth. Need some guidance here please

a lot of us have run RRS alloys (19's and 20's) rated at 900kg without any issues - its your call. Have a word with your insurer, if they are happy, then you've got these as additional options
AlVolvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
Gone - MY18 D5 HSE - Corris on 22's with Black Pack
Now gone - MY16 D4 SE Tech, Loire Blue, Almond Leather, Privacy, plus some other goodies.
Old - MY12 D4 SDV6 XS Auto - Ipanema Sand with Almond Leather - Plus other niceties, and D4.com sticker
Older - D3 TDV6 XS Auto - Lugano Teal with Almond Leather, 20" Stormers, Shiny Tailpipes, DVD/TV - and obligatory D3 sticker
Ancient - D3 TDV6 S - Tonga with Ebony, 20" Stormers, satnav & DVD

Going through the same process -
Have had GG AT2's before on 2 different Disco both 18 inch - found them to be great.
Have had the newer GG AT's on a Grand Cherokee 275/45 R20 - again very good.
Don't want to change my 20 inch wheels so either 275/45 R20 or 255/55 R20 ??
The 275 option gives about the same OD - so no speedo error - but it is wider & will be closer to the upper suspension metalwork.
The 255 option is about 1 inch bigger OD - having checked, that puts my speedo just about right - same width & about half an inch addition to the side wall height.
I'm looking at going for the 255 option.

Glad it not just me, so confused as was going down the 275 route as that is what most folk have done and curved ball with 255. Has anyone tried 255 55 20 grabbers?

from my research this evening it doesn't look like you can get grabbers in that profile!

Thank you for advice so far.
I have gone down the route of 275 45 20 Grabber AT and look a lot better than the Conti I had on.

Local tyre company got me tyres at only a couple of pounds more than openo. Noticed someone selling a set off 255 55 20 at tyres on here for £520 including delivery
