Does anyone know where to get the connector that supplies power to the clockspring for the heat? Part number maybe?

I'm being offered a heated steering wheel with part number LR030682 by a breakers. Will this work for this upgrade? It is a genuine Disco 4 steering wheel, but I can't seem to find the differences between the different types anywhere.

Hello all,

I'm looking to do this upgrade too and I have a D4 steering wheel but the heated switch on the RHS is missing there is just a plastic blanking plate. I have found a RHS switch set with the heating switch, on on eBay, which I can fit in but this seems to have no additional connections to any heating element for the steering wheel.

So my question is how do I know if the steering wheel I have has a heating element in it?

For those who have completed this Mod is there a connection from the controllers to a heating element in the steering wheel?

I have added a picture of the bar code on the wheel if anyone knows all the codes.

Please forgive me if this is a stupid question but normally drive a Volvo!

Thank you and Happy New Year

Hello Pete,

Many thanks for getting back to me, I have the clock spring and switch pack I'm just not sure if my steering wheel has an heating element.

I wonder if there is a way to determine that.

Regards

Bob

This one looks heated to me.
In the bottom right corner there are some red and green wires. Probably the heater and temp.sensor

I don’t think LR were fitting heaters and just not connecting them up in this period.

Hello,

Thank you I had been looking but wasn't sure. I have messaged the seller to see if they know or can look for the switch on the side of the RHS control unit.

Many thanks for your help.

Have a good evening Smile

Bob

Heated steering wheel function failed

After several years' enjoyment of a BBS heated steering wheel conversion on my D3 with RRS 2010 wheel, it has expired on me.

The last time it worked, I thought the tell-tale red LED on the activation switch was quite a bit brighter than normal for a few moments before it went out and there was no more warmth.

I have checked the power supply, which is fine. I have asked BBS, who have had no reports of failure and are unable to suggest where to look for the point of failure.

I use the D3 as a daily driver and don't want to dismantle the steering twice. While I accept it may be a case of a burnt out component on one of the PCBs in the wheel or the heater control module, either of which can be procured in advance - so I could equip and do the job in one go - I wondered if anyone else had experienced the problem and could point to a likely solution?

TIA

Edward
