Centre cap removal

Can the centre caps be removed without removing the wheel from the disco, should have changed them when I changed the alloys but forward planning was never a strong point.

Cheers
Big Cry I don't fancy taking the wheel off again, the winding of the jack has took three years off the life of my shoulder joints

You could try gaffer tape rolled up sticky side outermost to pull them off but think you might be losing another 3 years!

I've not tried it for this specific job, but I'd probably try using a hot glue gun to bond a wooden stick to the cap. I believe some people have used this method to pull out dents. Hot glue tends to peel off most smooth hard surfaces when cold without leaving a mark - use a blunt scraper to undo an edge and then gently pry the glue back off. I often finish off any straggly bits with my fingernals.

Biffa,

Do you mean the plastic caps in the centre of the wheel with the LR logo on ?

If so then no probs to remove without removing the wheel. You just need a very small screw driver (very, very small) Forced down the side it gives enough side leverage to push them out.

Yeah this is easy peasy !!!

No need to take off the wheel to do this Shocked

I just used the tip of the blade of my Leatherman Multi-tool. You won’t damage anything if you’re careful, certainly not the alloy anyway.

Very Happy Very Happy thanks for the advice, unfortunetly the gaffer tape didn't work, but used a tiny electrian's screwdriver with a bit of tape around to protect the alloy. It worked a treat, now very happy and the black logo centre caps look the part.
