Picked up my new Santorini Black D4 last May. Got the side steps, mud flaps, towing gear, full size spare (space saver not much good then you are towing a 1500+kg caravan), rubber mats etc but what nobody from either Landrover or the dealer happened to mention is that the spare wheel is a common theft target and would need some form of additional security.
Guess what? Yes I had my brand new spare wheel stolen , apparently it takes the thief less than a couple of minutes to steal it .
I obtained two quotes from dealers, one in Southend of £1450+ and one from around the local area of £980. A hell of a lot of money to find to put into the Landrover coffers. Apparently Landrover say there is an anti theft type out now- a bit bloody late seeing as I had a new car just over six months ago and this has been going on for at least six years and more so why is it only now that they have decided to act? I have spoken to the customer care people but all they can offer are the replacement parts at trade price- still a hell of a lot of money to find due to Landrover designing and fitting cheap and nasty parts then charging the earth to replace them.
This has completely taken the shine off my very first, and most likely my last, new car, it has left me flat, unhappy and wondering if I did right in my choice of cars.

Sorry to hear about your theft, but been a subject on here for many years - suspect the winch will also be knackered - not good
Same time as getting a new one (or trawl ebay etc for a second hand one) get a Protector from Uncle Ray on this site (look for RLD) - no way will it be stolen again

Thanks guys I will certainly look up Uncle Ray, I don't fancy loosing another wheel to some thieving scumbags.
