plastic shield under gearbox |
|
Looked underneath my D3 and found that the plastic shield under the gearbox is missing.
Went back to my local mechanic who takes care of my car. He looked like a questionmark.
Said he should look in the workshop.
My question is.
Do I have to replace this shield or is it OK without it?

Mine has been missing for a couple of years. No issues so far.

Mine got cracked and generally battered from off roading - so much so it literally fell off.
I replaced it with a metal undershield that covers more and, from the gouges, protects a lot better. I see no ships........
