Front Diff Repair Set - Wrong delivery??
Hi! I am astonished an would need some advice.
Since a few weeks I have the significant sounds from the front axle and a well feelable trembling of the front diff case when the wheels are spinned. Mechanics assume a bad front diff as reason for that. I decided to repair the diff and ordered a "Front Diff Overhaul Kit D3 D4 RRS (OEM)" from a british LR Part shop.
I received a set of 5 - DIFFERENT - bearing boxes and 3 Oil Seal Rings. Each bearing is a unique one.
The numbers are:
TIMKEN No:
NP159221, XAB32010X, LM603049, NP312191 and NP310800
NP312191 and NP310800 together are building one complete bearing.
EACH of the 4 BEARINGS has a UNIQUE inside and outside DIAMETER. None is the same like another.
Can this be correct? I never did a differential, but I am astonished about 4 different bearings, to me that would mean that left and right drive shaft need different diameter bearings. Is this corrct?
I posted front and back side pictures of the bearings:
Thanks for your explanations and advice. I don`t want to take the diff out and then end up in a reorder process.
