What to do??
My disco is coming up for its first birthday at the end of March, and traditionally I start calling around a few dealerships to see if it is worth handing in for a brand new one. This often means very little in the way of difference in the monthly repayments and a new car... I have had no joy with Land Rover. 2 of 2 dealers not calling me back even with repeated phone calls from myself.. Are they interested??
Looking at reviews of the new Audi Q7 prompted a couple of calls to local dealers. They will give me 40,000 for my disco - I hand it in, pay off Land Rover finance and my monthly payments go down by £30.00.
Yes I don't have a service pack like I do in my disco, and it's not a disco, but the reviews are fantastic and I save every month with a brand new car.
I really don't know what to do... is this a good move???

I think you have answered your own question - it isn't a Disco.
The Q7 is a very nice car but it's not a 4X4. It's like all the AWD or "intelligent 4WD" cars - you get some sort of 4WD just after you needed it. Also, is £30 a month going to change your life cos getting rid off your Disco will.FFRR Westminster TDV8

Have you driven the Audi? If it's good and you think it's better than the D4, get one

Pop along to the Audi dealers have a drive as i'm sure it would not be just £30 a month difference but as said before it is not a Land Rover as long as you can live with that it will be fine Discovery 3 se gone

Test drive first then decide. some cars, however nice just don't fit certain people
£30 a month isn't life changing, not having your discovery could be. Then again the Audi is a nice car and you could prefer it but it's not a propper 4x4

If you change you car after a year plus a bit what you got to loose trying the Audi? Puts you about right for a D5 when they launch if that's your cup of tea.

Personally I would go XC90 if I was moving from the Disco.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Two different vehicles. One's a 4x4 and one pretends to be.
Seen a new Q7 the other day - looks fairly ordinary putting it politely. I'm not saying that the Discovery is some flight of beauty, but hey, it looks like a LandRover...
I wouldn't say no to one if it was given to me, but for me it would have to be the 'old' D4...
Oh, and be prepared to wait a little longer when pulling out of a busy junction in the Q7...Communication is the breakfast of champions...
Personally I would go XC90 if I was moving from the Disco.
Exactly what I'm getting this week! (Hopefully) as said its not 4WD but as I spend 95% on road and is my family car as well as work vehicle then it needs to be comfy. The XC90 is a great car IMO, it drives more car like but still high enough up. I've had a couple of decent test drives but until I've owned it for a couple of weeks I'll not know if I'm completely happy with my decision.

Same problem, better figures for me, but still discos have taken a pasting this year and I'm not feeling the love, although it's next is ordered...I don't really want it
Looked at all of them, can't bring myself to get a ds and it's no cheaper
If anyone wants a good deal on a 2015, let me know.
I won't be getting an Audi though!!Mike

Skep that's a nice looking bit of kit.
So is that 2WD?
It's where I may end up depending on LRs pricing structure of the D5 and Defender replacement.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
No it is still AWD so I imagine a very capable car, but not in the same manner as the disco. I am a farmer and it will do all I need of it which to be honest isn't too hardcore. I am actually getting the R Design, prefer the styling

if you haven't had a test drive I would recommend trying it, really well kitted out for the price too.

Now that is the dogs danglies, love the colour, I assume it's R-Design only?
I'm too scared to take a test drive, I may be swayed.
Quite like this one

Yeh it's R Design only colour. Not seen one yet so not sure what it looks like in the flesh, all internet pictures show varying degrees of blue depending on light. It's currently awaiting the factory fit towbar to be fitted at the dealers as they no longer do it at the factory!'16 Volvo XC90 R Design Bursting Blue (Vera)

I had a quick look at the volvo for interest, its no cheaper than the disco, dog ugly and not that much better on any front really.
The only thing about the disco 4 is its outgoing status.Mike
