15000 service - what do they do?

Guys,

The reason I ask this is beacuse mine was serviced yesterday.

The dealer had to call me to ask where my locking wheel nut key was, as they needed to take the wheels off?

I know they did on all four cos there are grubby paw prints in the brake dust on all four wheels!!

And yes they did not clean my car whilst in for its service Sad

I know they have to check the brake pads for wear, but do they really need to take the wheels off to do this.

Nige.

oh yes I forgot to mention that they have not placed the locking wheel nut key back where it should be either, meaning I will have to make another trip back there today to pick it up before I go on another long treip somewhere!!!

Doh!

£220 plus the dreaded vat, it seemed cheap though to me even though they did not wash it!!

My 12000k service cost nothing (part of service plan with new vehicle) and is apparently only really an oil and filter change.
 Near enough 40 degrees South!!!

£377 including vat. You got it cheap, although mine was as clean as new when I picked it up.

Only cost £295 including VAT yesterday.

Still it's expensive for just an oil change and pollen filter.

And you're point is....

Just because you've got a good dealer, the rest of us have to compare notes and seek out the nice ones from the Cr*p ones. Sad

No don't get it wrong, I mean that there is such a huge difference and there should not be. They should all have the same skills, ability and quality control. That includes cleaning the car after a major service.

Hear Hear Thumbs Up As I seem to have been ripped of the most, I would be glad of this. They charged over 80 quid for oil for gods sake Evil or Very Mad

How do you stand with the warranty if you do the 15,000 service yourself. Buying the oil and filter parts etc. from the LR dealer.

Mine was £375.

P.S While on the subject of dealer costs, mine wanted £250 to fit a towbar and electrics. (Not the detachable one)

I fitted bar and electrics in an hour !
