Yeah - read through that and did think about not taking them.
On balance I decided in the end to get them based on that they were cheaper to add to the Landmark than they were to the old HSE, plus thinking they may still be of SOME use when parking, hitching up etc.
Also I know LR have said they're operating 'to design', but if they DO happen to release any sort of fix for them I'll be kicking myself for not having taken them.

They are operating to "design intent" which basically means they'll do nothing.
I have it from JLR themselves that they are not working on a fix, will not be working on a fix and even acknowledge its not as good as the earlier surround system and never will be.
I had my official response from the JLR Executive Office yesterday.
So just be aware you are degrading your rear view camera quality (arguably the one you use most) to get a load of other cameras that aren't great either.
I'd delete it and enjoy all the bits that work well but I know what it's like to want to tick all the boxes
