Very happy
Picked up this 2014 HSE Lux yesterday. Thoughts so far:
Positive
+Very relaxing drive
+Excellent gearbox
+ Ride height
+Certainly fast enough for my needs
+Very comfortable and bolster adjustment fantastic
+A novelty to watch TV while stationary
+Could get lost in the boot.
+Lots of storage
+Interior warms up quickly
+Surround cameras
+All round visibility
+Electric steering adjustment
Negatives
-It's massive
-Fuel economy
-The luggage cover could be designed better. For example the boot lid doesn't want to close property as the cover is in the way.
-Black and white dashboard screen. Technicolor was invented years ago.
-Length of boot (both positive and negative). My ape-like arms can't reach the back of the boot
- No under floor boot storage. Useful for keeping oil, European driving requirements, etc.
-Quick u-turns!
I have as yet not taken it off road but am well aware of their capabilities and look forward to doing so. Overall really happy and definitely made the right choice between this, XC70, XC90 and the A6 Allroad.
Only problem? I want to keep driving it which doesn't help the fuel bill.

You can put stuff under the middle row seats or the storage bins in the back. Try driving a Defender then you'll be amazed at manoeuvring a Disco DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Looks great
Youl find lots of nooks and crannies to store all your cr@p in youl be amazed how much it consumes! the side pod on the left hand side is like a mini cavern for tool rolls etc behind and under second row is great for tow ropes, mini spade and straps get some of those net organiser bags to make it neat. On the negatives you say it's massive, that will soon wear off, i remember jumping in one for the 1st time thinking this feels big.
Roll on 4 months and that goes away.

They are big, but with the high driving position and being shaped like a house brick, you can easily see all 4 corners. I've always found them much easier to negotiate around town than a small sports car. You'll soon get used to it and find driving a small low car a nightmare in comparison. Good luck with the D4 Discovery 4 HSE

I found two plastic bins ( with Lids) that just fit nicely under the second row seats and carry all sorts of stuff in them. They are a tight fit, so don't move around

Thanks very much. So happy with the car and am in the process of discovering all the hidy holes, etc. I constantly loose my keys and wallet so this is going to be fun.

Yes that's the one although if you have the towbar storage it does cut down on the available room. Cheers Ian

U turns? My Disco 3 has a far better turning circle than my L494!
A Defender (especially a 110) is another story......lol
