satnav light
while coming home tonight in the dark i noticed that the satnav screen was pulsing ie brighter one minute then slightly darker and so on is this right,got a bit annoying in the end

mine does that only first thing i the morning. ISTR that it's to try to protect the screen in the case of very cold weather etc. But it shouldn't do it on a run.
Hav eyou had any other electrical issues or had the iginition on for a long time during the day (to run the battery down perhaps)Bodsys Brake Bible

only had the car since sat,
only noticed it in the dark on a return 124mile journey,so battery should be fine.

Yes I've seen it do that. If you get a torch and shine it on the light sensor in the bottom of the rev counter, you will see the sat nav illumination change. It will do it in stages, and when you see it flickering bright and dark, its just between two levels.
Nothing to worry about.

I had this on holiday in the sun, a french D3 owner told me the same and used a torch to prove the sat nav screen....worrying things these D3's.....thankfully there is always someone who has an answer D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.
