where to stay in Pyrenees |
|
Dear all - I hope you can help. We're looking to come to the Pyrenees this summer and do some of the off-road tracks up into the mountains and through some passes. We were originally planning to do a week-long trip, camping, but this may be impractical, and so are wondering about staying somewhere and doing day and 2-day trips from there.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good places to stay? Requirements are:
* not too far from a range of good tracks to explore
* pretty place to stay
* quiet location
* interesting views/villages etc nearby
* preferably not a concrete ski resort with little character
All suggestions welcomed. Villages/regions fine, specific places fine (pool needed, accom for 4 adults, 3 kids, and 2 or 3 well-behaved dogs).
thanks!
