ARB Rear Shims.

Going to attempt putting the shims under the the rear bushes and wanted to confirm a couple of things.
When I raise the D3 it should be in access mode and locked to remove the wheel??
The arm that the bushes hold down, will that be under any pressure if I'm only raising one side at a time??
Finally, I've only got 1500kg stands x 2 and no money to get new ones. Would it be ok to do one side at a time with 1 stand??
Cheers in advance
BoBo

Raise the back end in one lift. The stands will be fine as you're not putting the full weight of the vehicle on them.

The ARB will be under no pressure but can be fiddly to work on.

Have you read through http://disco3.co.uk/forum/topic51384.html?highlight=arb?

Car should be in off-road height, not access height, to remove wheel. Otherwise you'll be jacking forever.
I'd guess (and is mentioned in the above post) that you need to raise both wheels at once to relieve the pressure on the ARB.
Be careful removing the bolts - slow and easy + plenty of penetrating fluid so as not to shear one.
Most people fit the new bushes rather than shims as the new bushes have the extra height built-in.
Are the stands 1500kg each / 3t per pair?

Teaching people to suck eggs etc, just make 100 percent sure the car is on level ground when both rear wheels up as it can slide sideways on the jacks/stands.

Cheers lads, just what I wanted, the stands are 1500kg each so there good. The shims are the cheaper option to find out where the knocking is coming from. Been on nights for the last week so I've done all the reading I can, just need to do it now. But I must admit I didn't know what setting to raise the D3 in. Thank god I've never had to change a wheel Embarassed Thumbs Up
