Is there any restrictions on the movement of the passenger seat? I assume all the balls involved makes it rather flexible in how the device can be positioned? Is it stable or do you get vibrations?

Good question, yes it does reduce the amount the seat can slide forward, forgot about that. From memory by ~5cm but it's something that hasn't caused me any problems.
No problem with vibrations, the T handles need to be really tight but there is no movement of the ipad (you'd need a different holder), even on the bouncy dirt roads in N Scandinavia.
