Easy lane above Burnley

My son and myself though we would have a couple of hour out greenlaning above Burnley.
The start of the lane at Worsthorne

brings back memories up to Gorple moor then on to Widdop drove that i my series 1 in the early 60 ts doped down to a reservoir did a lot of climbing on the crags there no one to stop you in them day they even built a wood road on one part rail sleeper Thumbs Up

Hi Ray,yes its gated off now and only assessable to walkers and cyclists,the walkers are even a bit arsey about the cyclists so god knows what the would do if they saw a D3 coming over the hill Shocked
If you look at Pic 7 Ray just over that hill about a quarter of a mile is where it is now gated Thumbs Up

there was or is a another lane goes to the right down by some old quarry and the split up again no problem in them days

Yes that,s on the right hand side at the top of the hill and runs down to the res and the quarry. You can,t get anywhere near that in a car nowadays its just bike or legs Big Cry I used to go there and camp when I was about 15 or 16 and we went on our "expedition walks"
