Fitting Xenon Headlamps to D3
Good morning all!
As some of you may know I have had various issues with my D3 when I purchased it back in December last year. Finally, I have resolved this and I am having delivered a new (used) D3. Unfortunately I have had to make some sacrifices as this is a much newer, lower mileage car and one of those being that it has standard headlamp fittings in opposed to Xenon ones.
So my question is..
Is it easy to change the headlamp fittings over to the standard Xenon ones providing I were to by a xenon kit (Bulbs, ballast etc). Does it use the same wiring loom? Has anyone done this?
I see that the headlamps are quite expensive, around £400 a set. However if it can be done for not much more expense than the headlamp fittings and xenon lamp kit it is something that I intend to do.
Anyone that has done this or has some info, it would be much appreciated!

10 minute job, straight swap + a bit of coding on the car but there are lots of people who can do this for you.
You really just need to swap the units over. They're plug and play but will flicker on start up unless enabled in the CCF.
The going rate (per pair) is about £300 for standard ones, £350 for adaptives (cornering lamps can be enabled but the full adaptive functions need the ECU to be fitted).

Hey guys,
Thanks for your replies! I'm not too fussed about the cornering assist feature.
So essentially, the wiring loom is exactly the same, just swap and plug in? The only extra thing that would need to be purchased is a xenon kit?
When you say it flickers, is it just until they get to full brightness or is it for a long while (Ie 5-10 mins?)
No, if you swap the units, you don't need anything else but it is best to have them enabled at some point.
