Remove my Tunit Box and Get a Remap?

Hi, I've been reading what i can find about remapping on the forum...

I discover my '06 D3 has a Tunit V-CR fitted. I've had the car over 5 years and the previous owner had it fitted. I only get 21.8 mpg and a bit more on long runs. I've just blanked the EGR's off (the car was becoming un-driveable) and my flat spot (that I've aways had) has now gone and it seems to accelerate faster.

I am wondering if I should remove the Tunit box and get a remap? Any advice very much appreciated.

Thanks
 Rob

Ok thanks for speedy reply. Sorry for my ignorance but is the Tunit something I can just unplug? is it so straightforwards?

Thanks

I don't know the box, but if you take some pictures of it and the wires I or someone else might be able to give you a clue Thumbs Up

You should be able to just unplug it and plug back in what ever was taken out you need to find it first I had one similar on mine and it was on the back of the engine block at the fuel pressure rail all it did was pump more fuel in so the engine gave it more air Thumbs Up

I had the Tunit box fitted and now have a BAS remap. Its a really easy job to disconnect. From memory its just a seis of plugs fitted to each injector and the ecu. I have some photos somewhere. I'll try and dig them out.

Thanks! that would be great.

Are you pleased you did the switch over, does it make a noticeable difference?

Thanks

I've removed a few of those, the owners tend to bin them or ebay them.
Very simple to remove, just a few connectors. Thumbs Up

Very pleased I changed to a proper remap. The Tunnit was a very crude device that just over fuelled the car. Not been able to locate the photos yet. I'm still looking.
