engine system fault, power loss, IDtool reading, help
looking for a bit of help diagnosing a fault.
Couple of times now while going up hill I lost power and engine system fault come up, I had black smoke coming out the back and it then just limped along running real bad. I cleared the fault with my new IDtool (group buy) and it started running fine.
I screen snapped the fault and would love to know what might be happening, or more importantly should I be worried?
Thanks in advance for help.

Have you checked you intercooler hoses for splits? That's the most common thing to fail; the big fat intercooler hose that comes up from the depths of the engine bay up to the manifold will have a split in it, I suspect.
Easy DIY fix and relatively cheap.

It might be worth changing the fuel filter but with that fault code suspect the turbo actutor is sticking..

Intercooler hose or the intercooler itself may have split. Don't worry about the fuel filter.

Thanks for your help guys. Just recently service so I doubt it's the filter. I checked the hose it looks good but it's hard to see it all. I guess I have to bite the bullet and take it to a garage sadly

Take the grill off and look for a patch of black oil on the intercooler. With your Iid tool look at live values >turbo inlet pressure when you Rev the engine. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
