EPB - what's a normal noise for the handbrake |
|
Hi all,
I've just had my EPB unit replaced due to the unholy screeching noise from my old one. The job was done by an independent garage who I've never used before and i would like to know what should a normal application and release of the handbrake sound like? My new one is not screeching however I can hear the motor working to turn on and off. I would have thought that you wouldn't hear anything??
The Indy said the EPB unit had been in the workshop for about a year, so he obviously doesn't do too many of these jobs so I'm just a bit worried it's not a good job.

I can hear the motor working on mine, but only with the engine off, or engine on and door open, in fact you can hear from the run time of the motor when it needs adjusting.

I'll see how it behaves over the next few days. I just thought it was slightly too noisy for a new EPB unit.
Thx.
