Reverse Parking Sensors and Towing
Hi,
Towed my caravan for the first time since owning the D3, towed it a treat and forgot it was on the back until it came to reversing.
My head was pounding afterwards from the continual beeping when reversing down the drive.
Is there a mod that can be done to switch them off when towing?

Assuming they are not aftermarket ones, They should deactivate automatically, mine do. And failing that there is a switch on the dash to turn them off.==================================

I presume they are factory fit, doesn't appear to be a switch on the dash, where should I be looking?

To the left of the hazard warning switch, doesn't disable them permanently, just temporarily==================================

Had another look, definitely no switch.

My 2008 LR3 has the switch to the left of the hazard warning switch as describe above. It a small round push button with a "P" imprinted on it. When I push it the warning signal is either deactivated or activated.
I am not familiar with the Disco 3 GS version so maybe mine is different than yours.Frank

It looks like there's a blanking plate where the switch should be between the Hazard switch and DSC button.
If I changed the top set of switches for one with the Parking button, is the wiring there to use the switch for rear parking sensors as I thought this was only for front sensors.2011 Discovery 4 XS in Fuji White

There's just one wiring plug behind that panel. Just unplug old panel, plug in new.
The switch does front & rear PDC if both are fitted. For some unknown reason they stopped fitting them as standard to later D3s if they only had rear fitted.
I may have a panel with the switch here somewhere that you can have for nominal fee, will have a look.
Have you got the LR tow sockets or aftermarket? If the LR ones you need a CCF update to tell the vehicle they're fitted then the rear sensors will automatically be disabled when a trailer's plugged in.The End
